Zeitbedarf: 10:00
Aufstieg: 1800 m
Abstieg: 1800 m
Zufahrt zum Ausgangspunkt:By car to Wägitalersee, parking at Schähhoger just across the dam. Then by bike past Innerthal to P.921, where the trail up to Schwarzenegg starts.
Zufahrt zum Ankunftspunkt:Same as start point.

On this nice and very warm day in June, I hiked to Bockmattli, Tierberg, Schiberg and Plattenberg. These are just four of many more peaks in the vicinity of Wägitalersee. On Schiberg I visited the south summit, but due to time constraints I skipped the north summit (even though I was very close to it). The ascent to Plattenberg was very demanding, not due to technical difficulties, but due to the very warm weather and lack of wind.

Distance:
The total hiking distance was about 16 km.

Times (not including breaks):
Wägitalersee P. 921 - Bockmattli: 2 h 15 min
Bockmattli - Tierberg: 45 min
Tierberg - Bockmattlipass: 1 h
Bockmattlipass - Furgge: 45 min
Furgge - Schiberg south summit: 15 min
Sightseeing Schiberg south summit - near to Schiberg north summit and back: 30 min
Schiberg - Furgge: 10 min
Furgge - Plattenberg: 30 min
Plattenberg - Wägitalersee P. 921: 3 h

Main difficulties:
1. The ridge from Bockmattli to Tierberg is generally quite exposed, and requires full concentration in many sections. I experienced dry conditions and nice warm weather, though. (T4)
2. The crossing between Bockmattli and Plattenberg is called Schneeschmelzi. It is not recommended to pass there unless the snow is gone. At the time of my hike there were still two small snowfields which partially blocked the trail. The first one (when coming from Bockmattli) did not pose any problems. The second one I could only pass by climbing up to the place where the snowfield was at the narrowest. It would have been a good idea to bring crampons along. (T4)
3. The last part of the ascent up to Plattenberg looks more difficult from a distance than it really is. There is like a ramp which allows you to cross the rock wall to find a passage to the summit. (T3+)

Equipment:
Hiking sticks.

Remarks:
See also attached GPS track (unfortunately, in some places the recording was not that accurate).
