Ochsenchopf (2179 m) is an impressive mountain between the valleys Wägital and Klöntal. You can hike there from either side, but the final ascent on the typical route will be the same. From the western end of Klöntalersee, the mountain looks particularly impressive, and it's hard to believe that the summit can be reached on a...

This hike covers the four peaks Stelli (2052 m), Brotjoggli (2115 m), Berger Calanda (2270 m), and last but not least Rossfallenspitz (2632 m).
Start of the tour at 7:30 in the morning from St. Margrethenberg. First with the mountain bike on the paved road to Fürggli (P.1333 in the online maps). Then on the unpaved forest road...

Inner Fürberg (aka Gross Fürberg) is a peak which is rather easy to hike to, but it still offers a great view to the glacier and the highest peaks in the Glärnisch massif.
I started off at 7:15 in the morning from Plätz, bringing my mountain bike along. The forest road to Chäseren is quite steep in many places, so I mostly...

The plan was to hike to Glaserhorn (3128 m), but due to low clouds and patches of fog at noon, I ended up doing only "Klein Glaserhorn". There is no mountain with such a name in the online maps; the peak is just P.3074 (or P.3075 as it seems to have grown by 1 meter recently). But some fellow hikrs have named it Klein Glaserhorn,...

Nice bike & hike from St.Margretenberg to Stelli (2051 m) together with my wife. We left the bikes at P.1335 and continued on foot from there. It was a bit foggy at the beginning, but it cleared out just as we reached the summit of Stelli.

Bocktenhorn (3043 m) is a mountain peak between Chüealptal and Dürrboden. It can be accessed from Sertig or Dürrboden. Either way, the usual route is going up on the south ridge, starting from P.2848 between Bocktenhorn and Leidhorn.
I wanted to try how it is to hike to Bocktenhorn via the west ridge. The start of the hike...

Chirchli (2769 m) is a mountain peak which is probably unknown to most. But I enjoy hiking to peaks that are rather unknown, and where rarely anyone would go. This time it was even more extreme, because Chirchli is kind of far away from any starting point. As a bike & hike from Monbiel it is easily manageable as a day trip...

Höchst is a mountain peak between Tristencholben and Sichelchamm. It is not very prominent, but still offers a great view! The mountain can be reached on a white-red-white (wrw) marked trail, either from the east or from the west. My route was Walenstadt - Lüsis - Nideri - Höchst, and the same way back.
I started my hike at...

This time of the year the Flumserberg area is pretty much deserted. Currently none of the lifts are operating. I only met a few people while biking, and during the hike I didn't meet anyone, even though I mostly followed the white-red-white (wrw) marked trails.
I started off with the mountain bike from Tannenbodenalp at 8:30...

Mattjisch Horn (2460 m) has been described here on hikr.org a number of times already, but I think this is the first time as a bike & hike report.
Start of the tour in Langwies shortly before 9:00 AM. I followed the forest road from Langwies all the way up to P.2079 (Seta), mostly walking the bike. The first 2.5 km of this...

This tour to Chrüz (2195 m) was a bike & hike with start and end in Schiers.
Start of the tour at 8:30 AM in Schiers at the train station. I followed the road up to Stelserberg, partially biking and partially walking the bike (10 km distance, 1000 m elevation gain, average slope 10%). Near Stelsersee I parked my bike, and...

Piz Arlos (2697 m) is a mountain peak just south of Savognin. So far it had only two hikr reports, so it's not that popular I suppose. But according to the summit book, it had actually been visited five times this summer. The peak P.2863, which is nearly 2 km further south, did not have any entries in the summit book for this...

Piz Forun (3051 m) is a mountain peak NW of the Kesch hut. The peak is not visited very often. The summit book is already 33 years old, but it still has one third of the space available!

For a long time I had planned to do a bike & hike from Laax to Bündner Vorab and Glarner Vorab, but due to other projects, it did not happen until today. When I last week saw photos from a friend's bike tour in the area, it again reminded me of my dormant plan.
I started off around 7:30 AM from Laax. At the start, the...

Cassonsgrat/Fil de Cassons is the highest area of Crap da Flem aka Flimserstein. The aerial cablecar to Cassons stopped operating a few years back, so now you either have to hike from Naraus or Bargis to get up there.
I started off with the mountain bike around 10:15 AM in Flims, heading up towards Fidaz and then Bargis. At the...

Pizzo Stella (3163 m) is the third highest peak around Lago di Lei, only surpassed by Piz Timun and Piz della Palù. The peak lies in Italy, but can also be accessed from the Lago di Lei hydropower dam in Switzerland. The elevation gain is less than if you start from the Italian side, but the distance is longer. It is best to ride...

On the way to Engadin, I stopped in Bivio and did a bike & hike to Sur al Cant (2716 m). This mountain is a little bit further south than the Bivio ski area. It was blue skies all day, but quite windy. The view from Sur al Cant was great, even if the summit is not as high as many surrounding mountains.
Route: By bike, from...
