Val Roseg: bike&hike to high altitude swim

Very nice bike (18km) and hike (2km) tour to the magical Val Roseg, up and close to the white giants to an isolated glacier lake.

This tour is recommended for people who would like to see the marvels of nature w/o hiking a boring 20 km in the flat.

We hired the bikes at Pontresina train station (35 CHF/day for adults, 30 CHF for < 16 y) and pedaled the 7 km to Hotel Roseg; the road is never steep and ideal for good biking.

After a short break we continued for another 2 km by bike until the path became too rocky and biking was unpractical. We continued for the last 30 min to the Lei da Vadret on a good path (its the path to Coaz Huette).

The views after Hotel Roseg are stunning: Piz Roseg, Piz Bernina and of course Dschimels, Gluschaint etc, dominate the vast basin that closes Val Roseg. A great place to bivy..

After a very refreshing bath in the lake we returned to Hotel Roseg, where we enjoyed the sun and the great fruit tarts. The return to Pontresina only takes 20min and is good fun !
