Surier – Becca Refreita (3h00)
Follow path 10 on the dirt road further into the valley. Turn left at the next junction and after a little while the path leaves the road and becomes a nice ascending forest trail. Signs indicate some big protected trees here. After in total about 1h30 you come to Alpe Monte Forciaz. Cross the bridge and head right before the buildings, following the Torrente Monte Forciaz. The path becomes a muddy cow trail. After a steep section the path joins with path 11 which you follow to the right. Crossing two streams (photo 1) the path goes to the other side of Vallone d’Invergnan. The last part to Becca Refreita is steep and alternates between serpentines on grassy bits and passages over slopes with big rocks. From the pass you have wide views further and back into the Valgrisenche valley and on Vallone d’Invergnan (photo 2).
Becca Refreita – Pass Mont Vaudet (1h30)
After an initial steep descent you cross Torrente Tsalé. From a distance the path seems to go straight over it, but you walk 100 downstream crossing with a makeshift bridge, and walk 100m upstream again. It appears that the final bridge is still to be built. The path goes a bit up and down with some very short technical bits (photo 3). You have nice panoramic views over the Valgrisenche valley (photo 4). After the environment has become grassier, another bridge crosses Torrente Giasson. Just downstream the water streams in some peculiar curves (photo 5). From very high up you can see the water streaming towards you including a beautiful waterfall (photo 6). Covering a few more grassy slopes you reach the highest point which is an unnamed pass near Mont Vaudet. From hear you can have a nice view on the surrounding peaks, for me it was cloudy.
Pass Mont Vaudet – Surier (2h00)
During the steep descent towards Rifugio Mario Bezzi, you can see a lot of marmots (photo 7). The easy path winds down the grassy slope towards the hut (photo 8). From the hut another muddy cow trail, which is path 12, descents towards Saxe de Ponton. The combination of the stream Dora di Valgrisenche with the surrounding cliffs from which a lot of streams come down creates a beautiful environment (photo 9). While crossing a bridge you can see a nice waterfall to your right (photo 10) which is again Torrente Giasson, just downstream of where you crossed it earlier. Shortly hereafter you reach the dirt road. The cliffs are amazing along the entire way. After 17.3km and 7h30, also including 30min at Becca Refreita and 30min at Pass Mont Vaudet, you are back at Surier.
