We started at Chamana Stradin on the Julier Pass. Here starts the blue-marked alpine trail. At the beginning it runs through large rocks but after a couple of minutes it turns into narrow path on the grass covered slope of the mountain. After another twenty minutes or so path becomes less visible as it goes on the naked soil (which slips under the feet) and peeble. This part is very steep and unpleasant. Next, the path runs through the alpine meadow with small stones on the right and left. After one hour of hiking starts the stone field which extends almost to the Fuorcla Albana. This part is not too steep and there is even a short period of descent but one have to jump over the large stones of which some are not stable. After that, the path appears again and goes, with many curves, up to the pass od Fuorcla Albana at 2870 m. It took us about 3 hours to reach the pass.
Then the trail turns left and starts to go over the ridge or just beneath it.After a couple of hundred meters of easy walk begins a rock climbing with the use of hands. In four or five places there are some steel chains or ropes to help you with climbing. This part is very exhausting - and it ends on the top. It took almost 2 hours to reach the summit.
The descent is not too easier as one has to be careful with finding proper way.
