Spontaneous Grosser Mythen hike

A flatmate and I decided around noon on a Sunday that we wanted to go for a hike. We settled for Grosser Mythen as I've enjoyed similar mountains, and since it was quick to get to from Zürich. We started walking from Brunni at 14:00, reached the top of Grosser Mythen at about 15:40, and were back at Brunni around 17:20.
It was a very nice hike. It started gently from Brunni to Holzegg. From there, it got considerably steeper, and while zig-zagging up the mountain, more and more of the view was revealed for every turn. It was not very dynamic, in the sense that we kept going at what felt like a constant incline the rest of the way, with no drastic changes to the trail.
The mountain stands quite alone (save for its little brother Kleiner Mythen), an imposing lump disrupting the landscape. From the top, you get a beautiful view, varying from vast, relatively flat lands to the north, to an impressive panorama of the alps to the south.
The hike presented very little danger. We saw people of all ages, including children. Going down might be a bit scary if you're afraid of heights.
The hike from Brunni and back took a little less than 3.5 hours. Included in this time is a half hour break at the top and two or three other shorter breaks.
