Klettersteig La Resgia

The weather seems rather wet, but after looking at the rain radar, a dry spell of at least three hours seems to be available to us. Should be enough for the La Resgia via ferrata in Pontresina.

The rock is still wet from earlier rainfall. This requires some extra care, especially on parts of the via ferrata that are less steep, but involve smoother rocks. The anchor points of the cable are sometimes rather far apart here as well, so it's better not to slip! On the other hand, the overall difficulty of the via ferrata did not really increase due to the wet rock. La Resgia is a "sports" via ferrata with plenty of iron rungs where the route gets steeper.

The average difficulty of the via ferrata is around K3, but the crux is significantly harder (K4+), with no way to escape or go around! This crux is an overhang called "Adlerhorst" that immediately follows a wire bridge. There are many iron rungs here as well, but because you have to move around the corner of the pillar twice during the overhang, you can quickly get into trouble here if you don't find the right moves straight away.

A little higher up (past the bench with log book and donation box), we encounter the "spider net", which can be climbed on both sides. The net is also often mentioned as a crux, but we find it significantly easier than the Adlerhorst.

The via ferrata is only open from July until October. During other months, the route is closed to protect the birds nesting here!
