Oberetteshutte

We started at 9:00 AM at the Glieshof hotel and followed the route through the forest to Innere Matscher Alm (some 50 minutes). The path is narrow at this part. From there the path becomes wider (can be driven by a car) until it reaches Boden (another 50 minutes). Then it turns to the narrow path again. After a couple of minutes, near the stone pyramid, the path to the hut turns right while the path to Klamm goes straight. Then the route starts to climb over the hill through the stone field until it reaches Oberetteshutte. This last part of the route is the most difficult and takes over an hour.
 The cold front passed along the Alps a day before and the snow started at about 2000 m with ice in some places. In addition, it started to snow while we were at the crossing, so it took us over 1,5 h to reach the hut.
When we were in the hut (spiegeleier and kaiserschmarren made us much better) the weather improved and the snow disappeared under 2500 m. We took our way back along the route to Klamm. The first part is steep and narrow and there is a rope in one difficult place. At Klamm it levels and follows the Saldurbach until it meets the crossing at Boden. At Innere Matscher Alm we turned right and continued the way along the dirt road on the right side of the stream.
The way up took us over 3:15 h (with standard time about 2:50 h), the way down about 2:45 h
