Hike classification: 3 stars (nice, but not special)
In spite of the very high temperatures we started today even later than yesterday (at 12), after cleaning the house. The wind made it very comfortable outside, and only few convective clouds developed, so in fact it was not a problem to start so late, also given the fact that this is a rather short hike. The tour starts by following the ski-lifts, and when pt. 2270 is reached the hiking path is somewhat below the ridge. At one point there is a very nice view on the southeast face of Hochstollen, and at that point (Wit Ris) also an alpine hiking path descends (T4, risk of falling stones). We continued towards Hochstollen with some slightly exposed parts (T3-) and increasingly impressive views towards the central Swiss high mountains and down to the Melchsee region. The path from Hochstollen to Abgschütz is also somewhat exposed (T3). Finally, we descended towards the small altiplane with Melchsee and other small lakes. This is also an important karstic area.
An alpine route (white-blue-white) also follows a larger part of the ridge and not only Hochstollen, but also Glogghüs and Rothorn are climbed (T5+). This path is sometimes very exposed with some little climbing.
