Balmflue 18 pitches, 5c+

We did this climb a few months back. I just posted this report primarily for the pictures. Earlier trip reports describe the route pretty well :-0
The closest connection is normally Ruttenen, but since we didn't want to wait for the bus, we walked all the way from Solothurn, it was a pretty hike.
The route is nice. One would think it has lot of crumbling rock, that is partially true: during the approach and even during the climb one constantly hears loose rock falling down, so a helmet is strongly recommended while you are down. However rocks fall from the other sides; the Balmflue route per se is now fairly stable with many climbers having moved on it.
Some of the pitches are hard, I would pull on expresses then. The jump across the chasm was a bit scary but should be okay.
We carried a 50 m single rope, and felt that was ideal.
Quite enjoyed the climb :-)
