Another hike inspired by the book Alpinwandern Tessin
Stage 33
Berzona – Lignasca – Corte di Sopra – Chignolo – Monti di Motti – Monti della Scesa – Alpe di Foppiana – Sassariente – “Polish wall” – Cima di Sasello – Alpe di Sassello – Monti di Colla - Monti della Gana – Monti Vellone – Alpe Ronchi – Ronchi di Natel – Agarone – Gerra – Statione Riazzino/Cugnasco
Remarks: If you happen to be around Sassariente it is worthwhile to walk on the wall from Sassariente to Cima di Sasello. Polish inmates supposedly built the wall after World War II; nobody seems to know why they had to build it. It is about 1 meter wide and sometimes up to 2 meters high and more than a kilometer long. You can mostly walk on the “Polish wall” all the way from Sassariente to Cima di Sasello.
