Ämsigen (1359m) - Pilatus Esel (2119m)

Ämsigen - Mattalpplatte
We got out from train at Ämsingen and hiked up to Mattalpplatte.

Mattalpplatte - Steiglihorn
From here we took the "short-cut" up to Turm I, which we passed from Northern side and started climbing at Turm II: 3c. Immediately after this Turm III: 4a. It would have been nice to do also Turm IV but because of rain and snowing we desided to skip this for now and continued up to Steiglihorn.

Steiglihorn - Pilatus Esel
From here you can easily walk towards the East side of Esel. There was still quite some snow on Northern side and axe would have been nice while climbing up. There is anyway quite some hooks whre you can secure yourself, but they look quite old, so better use nuts, hexes and stuff. Route was in rather good condition, but lot of loose rocks and slipery specially while it was raining.
