Because of its location this Laguna has a splendid view of Cordillera Blanca. It is located south west of Huaraz in the Cordillera Negra.
It is beautiful walk to make the initial acclimatization for the nearby located Cordillera Blanca.
It is a great choice for a shorter half day hike to take in stunning and beautiful panoramas of snowy mountains (Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Hualcan, Copa, Vallunaraju, Ocshapalca, Ranrapalca, Palcaraju, Churup, Chinchey, San Juan, Huamasraju, Huatzan, Cashan, Shacsha, Pucaraju, Muruaraju Caullaraju)
