New year on the Monte Bar

The 2012 started with nice weather and so we decided to go for our first hiking tour in the new year. Since we did not really wake up early in the morning we chose to hike the Monte Bar along the direct way starting from Corticiasca. There is not much to say about the path, which runs almost straight to the summit passing the Alp Musgatina and the Monte Bar hut.

The difficulty of the path is T2 ideal for a Sunday afternoon tour which does not have technical challenges in focus.

The total absence of snow even on the top was surprising. We enjoyed the wonderful view on Lugano city, on the south and on the Swiss Alps, direction north, east and west.
