This was our first group excursion. I was positively impressed by the number of people joining... Since it was our first mountain experience all together we decided to go for a not too difficult trail. We chose to explore the Bündnerland and more precisely to go from Lenzerheide to Arosa via Furcletta with an overnight stay in the beautiful Ramoz hut.
Day 1: we started in Lenzerheide at the post office and followed the path leading out of the village and up to Alp Sanaspans, where we already encountered some snow laying in the shadow. From the Alp we continued to the intersection at p.2149; there we took the path on our right and went up to the Lake Pintg, the lake Grond and finally to p.2615. From there we crossed the south-east face of the Pizza Naira and went up again to the Furcletta, from where our hut was already visible. The descent to the hut was almost entirely covered with snow and was real fun! After a good dinner and some wine glasses we spent the night in the hut.
Day 2: the second day a dick fog layer reduced the visibility to a few metres. When we were almost starting the direct descent to Arosa suddenly the view of blue sky made us change idea and try the way via Erzhornsattel. So we went up direction p.2507 and from there reached the summit of the Erzhornsattel. Unfortunately in the meantime the weather got worse again so that on the top it was even snowing. Because of the extremely limited visibility and the slippery terrain we decided not to risk the descent on the other side direction Älpli lake, but to go back along the same trail. Back at the hut we followed the Welschtobelbach to Arosa.
The trail does not present any particular difficulty. The most demanding part is the path between Ramoz hut and Erzhornsattel signed as an alpine trail, which can be classified as T3+.
This first group excursion was a very positive experience which has to be repeated. Together with me on this trail: Raffo, Damiano, Pascal, Martino, Simo, Gino, Dario, Giüli. The direct corssing from Lenzerheide to Arosa can also be done in one day as I experienced with Eveline.
