Monte Lema is an extremely popular hiking destination, as alone or in combination with other peaks in the area. I had already reached this summit four times, always via the most easy route, an insignificant stroll from Alpe Pradecolo. Now, having been recently enrolled in the fearsome Pampers Division, I’ve been away from hiking for quite some time; therefore I much needed to warm up my legs somewhere close to home, and Monte Lema was just right. This time, however, I decided to undertake the ascent from the Swiss side, departing from the comfortable parking facility of the cableway station at Miglieglia. The route, generally following the cableway cables direction up to the upper station, has been conveniently reported on hikr a number of times, so I will not be repeating things. The weather was magnificent and the famed view from the summit could be totally enjoyed. I had to put apart my ambition of descending from Forcola d’Arasio because of snow (and ice, presumely), not too safe for my summer-stylish boots. Nice, relaxing hike.
