start point: mountain lake Gosainkund (4380m)
final point: Cholangpati Danda (4788m)
ascend time: 1hrs 30min
equipment needed: trekking boots, good to take trekking poles; in the spring season (March, April) larger part of the climb can be under snow
difficulty: most of the climb off the trekking route; snow in early season
- from the Gosainkund lodges one descends to the lake first, walks along it's northern shore and then up to a spring (praying flags) above the lake
- shortly above the spring we have to leave the path to the left (walk up to the Cholangpati Danda ridge is not a part of the Laurebina La Trek) and over a small rocky plateau get below a steep slope, which leads to a flat col
- it's better to beat the slope in the leftmost part - less rocky, partially usable path
- left above the little col is a significant rock, which has to be bypassed from the right to its "top", from where the whole remaining portion over the rocky-grassy ridge to the summit can be seen
- under good weather, the Manaslu, Himal Chuli, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Naya Kanga, Surya Peak peaks can be seen from the summit
