A breezy tour with some long downhill parts, and mostly very modest gradients.
From Kalterherberg, we first explore the Jägersief, then cross over the Bundesstraße 258 to pass by some of the new windturbines - the trails is right at the foot of these giants.
Then the descent begins into the Holdertal, on good forest paths down to the Rur valley. Turning left, we reach the restaurant Grünental for a first good rest in the beergarden. The place is popular with bicycle riders and hikers. Along the Rur to Monschau - depending on the day you may linger, or go through it as quickly as you can. Back to Kalterherberg, quite leisurely, along the Rur.
