Subregion anlegen geht gemäss dieser Meldung nicht mehr!

Aha. Und jetzt wurden anscheinend alle Subregionen von "Außerhalb der Alpen" gelöscht. Wozu gibt´s Admins für die jeweiligen Regionen?

Verstehe ich auch nicht. Ich habe einst (als man dies als normaler User offenbar noch durfte) die Subregionen "Südöstliches Alpenvorland", "Neusiedlersee-Seewinkel" und andere angelegt. Dass man das jetzt (nach Jahren) löscht, macht aus meiner Sicht absolut keinen Sinn. In gewissen Gebieten der Schweiz kann es punkto Subregionen dagegen nicht detailliert genug sein...

There is very little activity in "Außerhalb der Alpen", only 99 reports in total. But it was very disorganized, more than 20 sub-regions (and sub-sub-regions, errors, etc,)

I decided to move all reports back in one region.

If people think it's really necessary to have sub regions in "Außerhalb der Alpen", we can divide it in a few definitive sub-regions. Interested people have to decide a definitive final list of sub-regions.

In fact, the organization of "Österreich/Außerhalb der Alpen" is not easy. There are two possibilities in my opinion:
1) Subregions of "Außerhalb der Alpen" = every Bundesland (Niederösterreich, Burgenland, Steiermark, etc.)
Every Tour that is not in an alpine area could be taken in the right Bundesland. Example: "Wanderung bei Retz" = "Außerhalb der Alpen / Niederösterreich". This is easy, but not very differentiated.
2) The most regions of Austria are alpine. Example: In Tirol you won´t find areas "Außerhalb der Alpen".
We could define some regions, that are not alpine, for example:
Nordburgenland, Mittelburgenland, Südburgenland, Weinviertel, Waldviertel, Mühlviertel, etc. This is more differentiated, but would not be a consistend list.

Maybe there are other opinions - especially from West-Austria, because I don´t know if there are not-alpine areas in Vorarlberg, for example.

I agree with Philipp that dividing the areas outside the alps in Austria in sub-regions is quite difficult. Maybe this map shows a possibility: From this 9 regions are the following more or less outside the Alps:
1 Wald- und Mühlviertel
2 Nördliches Alpenvorland
3 Pannonisches Tief- und Hügelland
4 Südöstliche Randalpen und Hügelland (or better just „Südöstliches Hügelland“)

All other regions are inside the alpine area.

This is a special map for forestry - the areas in this map are not used in other contexts. Therefore I would not use them for Hikr,

Maybe we could use the following non-alpine areas, that are generally used in Austria (compared to wikipedia):

Oberösterreich:
- Innviertel
- Mühlviertel
- Hausruckviertel
- Traunviertel

Niederösterreich:
- Weinviertel
- Waldviertel
- Mühlviertel
- Industrieviertel

Burgenland:
Nordburgenland
Mittelburgenland
Südburgenland

All other areas are mostly alpine.

I agree with you but I miss in your list the southern and southeastern Steiermark (one of my favourite areas in Austria), so I would add them also:
Steiermark:
- Oststeirisches Hügelland
- Südsteiermark

Ok, but I don´t understand what you mean with "if everybody agrees"?

I mean if nobody says now: "No, I disagree" Probably they would say that already so it should be ok now.
