Decided to check out the Spannorthütte while having lunch at the Stäfeli. The trail was steep (and perhaps not the best place to be on the hot afternoon with a full stomach...) but well marked. Met just one person on the way up, and the custodian at the hut (who mentioned she might be leaving soon due to the forecast snow)....

Started at Fürenalp around 9:00. There was some fresh snow, but the trail was clear until Blackenalp. Several centimeters of (quickly melting) snow above that; was glad to have gaiters and hiking poles for descending through the slush on the other side of the pass.
