Hike to the First Tower of the Seven Bulls, Kyrgyzstan
First of all, there are no official or marked trails to the first Tower of the Seven Bulls. I’m referring to the easternmost tower. This is a difficult and dangerous hike, so only attempt it if you have a lot of experience in exposed terrain. It should also only be done when the weather is completely dry.
We started by crossing a bridge north of the town and quickly gaining elevation. After about 40 vertical meters, we reached the first slab wall. If you feel uncomfortable here, it’s best to turn around because it only gets more exposed from this point. The route follows a natural path through the trees, and occasionally you might see a faint trail.
You’ll need to climb up grassy sections and rocky parts. Near the summit, there’s some exposed climbing required. The rock is quite brittle and unstable, making it nearly impossible to protect the climb with a rope. A fall would be deadly, so you must be very careful throughout the climb.
