Brins Mesa - Soldier Pass Loop

The parking lot at the end of Jordan Rd was almost full when we arrived shortly before 10am. The last half mile was rough, drivable but painful if you didn't have at least 6-8" clearance (and while conditions were dry). Restrooms, and a pay station.

Hiked the loop counterclockwise, climbing up to Brins Mesa first, continuing to Soldiers Pass, past Soldiers Pass Caves and the Seven Sacred Pools to Devil's Kitchen, a large sinkhole. Completed the loop via the Jordan and Cibola Pass trails.

No obstacles on any of the trails, but some sections were quite rocky and required good footwear, especially between Soldiers Pass and the caves. No water apart from some muddy puddles. Didn't see any wildlife, but many plants (incl lots of Manzanita) were blooming.

The section between the caves and the sinkhole was a bit crowded. Only a trickle of people elsewhere.
