Blimey!!! You must be a very brave man to dare such an adventure and to have climbed down into this abyss. Unvelievable.

About two years ago I was standing at exactly the same place (I remember the numbers "02" painted on the rocks) and I looked down into this gully and I just said to myself: "Impossible". And then I just turned around and went back to where I came from.

Some days later I then found the access to the "Casa dei Pagani" in Mendrisio near the "Cantine", in front of the "Osteria Lanterna".

You are the person who can understand this dream more than all people. When I faced on this abyss my first idea was: "go back till you can". But I remembered my poor climbing experience and I adopted the tecnique: go down (or up) just a little step and see what happens. I learned this is a winning method in most of cases.
My next attempt (last I hope) will be to follow your footprints starting from Osteria Lanterna and I will also try to follow the path that seems go towards Somazzo just to see where it would be.
