I grew up in the Cascade Mountains in Oregon. Spent a lot of time fishing with my dad. He was knowledgeable about all of the trees and animals. My mother knew the common names of all the plants and flowers. We learned to value nature. Due to health issues I can't hike - thank you for letting me peek in on your adventures!!!
