Highest peak in Alajuela province of Costa Rica. Short walk from the parking. We had excellent views at 8am, but soon tight clouds came. A lot of smoke goes out from the center of the crater. Peak is located in one of the beautiful Costa Rica national parks. Cerro Chato lies adjacent to the active Arenal volcano.
