Amazing acclimatization tour from Chimborazo Lodge to Carrel Refuge at Chimborazo. Enjoy breathtaking views of Chimborazo and the whole national park, while trekking steadily up. Vicunas are all around and you are far away from the city on this excursion off the beaten trek.

Start: CHIMBORAZO LODGE (great place for staying there overnight or having lunch at 4.000 m and meeting Ecuadorian mountaineering ledgend Marco Cruz and his impressive collection of mountaineering utensils - PRIVATE PROPERTY). The path leads along sandy and rocky slopes of Chimborazo, granting incredible views!

End: CARRELL REFUGE - possible base camp for a CHIMBORAZO CLIMB.

EQUIPMENT: good shoes and come prepared for cold ... you're hiking pretty high ... up to 4.800 m and it can get very cold there.
