Neue Idee für Photos und Basis-Account

Hi Admins

Grundsätzlich ist die Idee natürlich gut und vorallem für Basiskonto-User attraktiv.

Da ich jedoch davon ausgehe, dass Ihr aus finanziellen Gründen lieber mehr Pro-User haben möchtet in Zukunft, würde ich als Betreiber aufpassen, dass die Grenze zwischen Basis und Pro genug breit gehalten wird;-)

25MB:200KB=125 Fotos/Mt.

Das sind eine Menge Touren;-) Der einzige Unterschied zwischen Basis und Pro ist dann zur Zeit zumindest imho lediglich noch die Werbeeinblendung!?

Hi Taka! Thank you for your fast reply! We really really want to know opinion of our users, especially pro.

I verified just now, average original photo is 400KB => 65 photos pro Monat.

If you publish 4 reports /Mt. you can have up to 16 Photos pro report, 6 reports => 10 fotos pro report. Not so much! (but also much more than 3 photos/report on "similar websites^tm":))

One "problem" is that we have lots of free space on server (circa 50GB now) and probably will have up to 600GB in near future, because we will buy faster server, and big disk is included in the kit. It's stupid to pay for that and leave it empty.

Of course, pro users will not see any ad. In general, we are very happy with pro accounts and will not change anything for them!

PS: A few months ago i had on my three servers 1.4 Terrybyte space left and I started to beginning wasting my space or offering it for free. I was sure that the space will never reach the limit for the next 10 years. As I said, thats just a few months ago and now Im am thinking about to buy an other server cause theres no space left and no more possability to extend them...but now I have a lot of happy users *gg*:->

a) Ich würde das Monatslimit, wie von Taka schon erwähnt, tiefer ansetzten. So ist der Anteiz sicherlich grösser Pro-Mitglied zu werden.

b) Zur Qualität der Seite würde ich es bevorzugen, dass man nur Fotos mit Text hochladen kann. Wer ein Foto macht, kann es ja auch beschreiben...

Das Problem ist dass wir haben sehr wenig Pro Accounts. In einem Jahr, zirka 33 Kontos, not so much.

Also, Werbung ist dann mehr interessant (natürlich für Pro Users bleibt die Werbung ausgeblendet). Wir hoffen dass mit diesem neuen System unsere Website mehr Users, Berichte und Fotos bekommt.

Für Ausländer und Studenten wird das Monatlimit mehr attraktiv.

Ich weiss nicht ob das gut ist. Wenn man nur Fotos uploaden kann wie bisher, nämlich mit einem Tourenbericht, dann sind es auch Fotos von Bergtouren/Wanderungen.
Wenn man aber nun unabhängig eines Berichts Fotos uploaden kann, besteht folgende Gefahr:

- Mein Haus
- Meine Ferien
- Mein Haustier
- Meine Party

... ... ...

Und da u.a diese Fotos auch auf der Startseite im Zufallsprinzp (random) angezeigt werden, könnte die Seite zu sehr vom Grundkonzept abkommen: Bergtouren!

Of course, it will be only for mountain photos. All other photos "Mein Haus, usw" will be deleted, just as we do now. In fact, we already have some tentative to upload such kind of photos.

The advantage of permetting to upload photos without a rapport would be for example:
- attract good nature photographs
- attract people from foreign countries, who have very good photos, but don't speack one of the language we can understand (for example, I am completely unable to describe a mountain path in english, so I suppose a lot of people in the world, even if they speack basic (bad) international english)
- people who live in the mountain have a lot of mountain photos just taken from their house door; for example, now we have really a lot, but we have no report to associate to them and no place to publish them (even if we would like a lot)

So, that's why we came out with this idea.

I once also thought of this thing with the language. For people who don't speak or don't understand german, the most hikr.org reports are not of importance. I mean, the Swiss Mountains are known worldwide. To write a report in 2 languages would be a good idea, but it's also linked to more work:)

For "Mein Haus..." we have a beautiful solution that works: delete photo and remove user :))
So it's not really a threat!
