My Hikr

Hi everybody!

We would like to present you an experimental new feature: My Hikr!

Now you can see on the front page new publications only in your preferred regions, communities and from your favorite users.

Do you remember, some time ago we did a customized e-mail notifications, so you can choose notifications for which regions, communities and people you receive e-mails and how often. Now we followed this idea a little bit further.

As you can see there is a button "My Hikr" on the first page. If you click this button you will see a  list of recent reports only from those people, regions and communities that you have in your "My Hikr" (previously known as "E-mail Abo"). You can see and modify the list of those here. You can also add new stuff to your My Hikr from the page of the region, comm or user. Just click the "Add to My Hikr" button there (it's on the right side of the page)

As usual My Hikr reports can be browsed by publication date, tour date or last comment date. Only recent reports are included (published less than 1 month ago). And total number is limited to 100. And for some obscure technical reason geotags are not included.

You can set My Hikr or standard list of new publications as you default view by using the "Set as default view" link just under the My Hikr button on the main page.

There is one difference from E-mail notifications. We only send e-mails if a user in your list is the author of the report, but in My Hikr we show all reports where this user is listed as partner. Should we change that?

Voilà. Questions, suggestions and bug reports welcome!

Your tired dogfriend Zina.

PS: Could someone translate this in German pleeeeease?

Hallo zusammen,

This new feature is a very helpful! Thanks a bunch!

No, I like this behavior very much. Since currently there is no way for me to tell who the partners are for a specific report without actually opening it, this "My Hikr" behavior makes it much easier to find hikes of "my friends", where they are partners but not authors.

I personally would actually prefer, if the email behavior was be the same and I'd receive an email too, if a "friend" is listed as partner only. But I guess with this new feature, I don't even need that any more.

Thanks again,
360
