It is no more necessary to add someone to your friends or to be member of a community in order to receive the notification about an update of the user or of the community. Moreover, you can also receive updates of a region or of a geotag.
You can administrate all your notifications in the menu Preferences -->News and Updates: www.hikr.org/edit_user_newsletter.php.
You can also add/remove something from your notification using the button "E-mail Abo". You find this button on the user's homepage, on the region's homepage, on the community's homepage and on the geotag's homepage.
TIP: You can receive all new publications by email if you subscribe to the region "World"
