Error when trying to open a map in a report

I can confirm this problem (firefox, Ubuntu) - this is quite new. Seems like google changed something here...

Google has enforced the use of API keys and a valid billing account as per July 2018: /developers.google.com/maps/billing/important-updates

Basically, we cannot pay them.

Since July Google Maps are no more free, so first 30000 views
are free then you have to pay. 30000 views is about what we have in average monthly, but in August there are more views so it happens already.

In Switzerland they accept credit cards only.
So, we tried to pay, but google won't accept our "PostFinance MasterCard Value" card because it's a prepaid card! We contacted google and there is no other way to pay them in Switzerland (in some other countries you can pay using a bank account) It's not even mentioned anywhere on their site, you just get an error after you enter the credit card number.

We are looking now what to do. By the way, September 1st it should be back anyways.

Wir schauen jetzt was zu tun ist. Übrigens sollte es am 1. September sowieso zurück sein.

I suggest to switch to open streetmap and using the leaflet JavaScript API to access the maps and overlaying the wanted data. Of course the API is totally different from the Google Maps API, but the implementation is fairly straight forward.
It is possible to use the different maps of them OSM-World. Beside the default streetmap, the open cylcle map and the open topo map are good to be used.
The change has to be made in the code of the website, users can not change the still existing google map error.

The strange thing is that at some periods of the day it seems to work, but other times it doesn't work.

Kann es sein, dass deshalb keine Wegpunkte mehr angelegt werden können?

Hab's grad für einen Entwurf mal ausprobiert - es geht durchaus, und zwar auf dem ganz normalen Weg!

Ok, danke für die Rückmeldung. Bei mir waren die angelegten Wegpunkte einen Tag später nicht mehr zu finden. Komisch.
