Glacier de Moiry (VS) - Ice climbing session

After a rainy day on thursday and a fresh start on this friday, we decided to go for a ice-climbing session on the Glacier de Moiry above Grimentz (VS).

Above 2350m the rain turned to snow overnight so it was a nice scene for crossing the glacier and looking for the right place where we could have fun and action with our gear.

We went up the glacier with five persons in total, all equiped with camera's, drinks and food and the weather was perfect (sunny and freezing level at 2500m)..so all the ingredients for a nice day!

After a short while we reached a nice place at about 2650m near some steep "glacierwalls" where we made our "Standplatzssicherung". From this point we did several abseil und ascent sessions.

The Glacier de Moiry is quite easy to reach from de parkingplace at the end of the lake, within 30 minutes it is possible to enter the ice. The nicest places to climb are situated on the right side between about 2500-2700m.
