Madone (2039m)
Today the announcement is to gain some more altitude. The Monte Madone with a start in Mergoscia would be a good tour to train high meters. We started from the idyllic village Mergoscia and hiked up via the hamlets Fossei – Porchesio to Redrisc. All hamlets have been abandoned by people.

After this point (Redrisc) the hiking signs changed from white/ red to white/blue, we hiked up on a long ridge – with a wonderful view – between bushes and high grass, up to the peak Madone. We enjoyed a marvellous panoramic view.
 

We love to do round courses, so we went back via the hamlets Alpe di Bietri – Faedo – Bresciadiga – Campigliai (which all looked liked ghost hamlets) to our start point, Mergoscia. We did the tour review with a good, big glass of beer...
