This route is for experienced mountaineers / hikers. One should have a good knowledge of navigation as the weather in this area is very changeable and high winds heavy rain and low cloud cover are common. One would need to be sure footed and have a good head for heights. This route should take around 5 hours. At start of walk 2 rivers have to be forded. Shortly after a steep but quite safe assent followed by an impressive ridge walk ( An Géarán). From here one assends Brandon peak, then one follows ridge line to Brandon Mountain the higest point on route. Then one takes the pilgrims route for a while untill deviating back to the start finish point.
This a very spectacular area well worth a visit.
