  • with Emma and Witold
  • very long trek covering a significant distance, +1000m ascent and -1600m descent.
  • terrain is rather easy; path is generally well kept and easy to find; very little 'pieraille'
  • very rewarding in terms of landscape: the whole Mont Blanc chain along the Val Ferret and Val Veny, Testa del Ruitor, Gran Paradiso, Grand Combin. Very imposing view of Monte Berrio Blanc too.
  • splendid weather early in the day, with clouds coming in from around 15:00; light drizzle started during our descent toward Arpettaz
  • interesting bivouac sites around L'Arp vieille sup. (2303), Mont Fortin (2758), the upper part of the Chavannes combe, in the splendid Vallone di Youlaz (descending towards La Thuile).
