The closest access point is from the Gruttenhütte, which can be reached via the Gaudeamushütte in around an hour, either via a A/B klettersteig or via a steep trail.  Another hour brings you to the start of the VF.  Most of it is A/B, with some scrambling.  There is a long aerial section and finally a B/C section before gaining the peak.
