We had a great experience with this trip in 2009 and the kids was begging us to repeat it - and of course we did not want to disapoint them.

Once again we drove up to S-Charl and enjoyed the ever changing scenery. The parking is just outside the village and costs 5 CHF for 24 hours.

From the parking lot you backtrack a few hundred meters along the road and then turn left and cross the river. Thereafter follow a clearly marked footpath over a green area and then into the wood. This year there were build a bear track which crossed our route and everyone had fun at the weight carry test station "can you carry as much as a bear?".

We continued up in the Val Tavrü slowly going upwards enjoying all the flowers in blossom and the butterflies. Reaching lunch time we went down to the small river and enjoyed water, stones, hundreds of butterflies and our food.

After the refreshments and plenty of games we continued up through the last part of the valley - before reaching the end of the valley the road turns right and from here the ascent really starts. Complete a couple of curves and you pass the mountain farm of Alp Tavrü and from here the road turns into a small footpath. As last year this part of the path was without moving air and on a sunny day in July it turns very hot so bring cold water from home or the river as there will not be any place to re-supply.

When we reached the rim leading the last part north to Mot Tavrü which also functions as border to the nationalpark we were able to spot a group of deer's who was using a snowfield to cool their bodies on this hot day. Finally going through the red stones on the final part of the path we once again found ourselves on the top of Mot Tavrü with a magnificent view in all directions. This is a beloved place for and with a good chance of spotting wildlife in the nationalpark.

The return follows the same path.
