We started from the large parking lot just outside S-charl (5,- Fr for parking 24 hrs) - half of the group drove up in car and the rest took the bus from Scuol. Please note that there are a limited number of departures per day so check with the timetable in advance.

This trip is rather easy and good to walk with kids as they most of the times can run by them self unwatched - there are only very few passages on the medium part (above Alp Tavrü) towards the ridge where they need to be looked after - we did the trip with Filippa (3 years) who was carried in a child carrier a great part of the trip and Christoffer (6 years) who walked the entire trip himself. Once in the valley the road is easy to follow and can not be missed. We walked 13 km in all.

From the parking lot we walked away from S-charl and shortly after turned left crossing a wooden bridge walking over a short grass field and entering Val Tavrü. In the valley the road follows the river and there are plenty of possibilities of taking a little break and cool hands, head or feets or just throw a stone. Coming further into the valley there is a great view towards the end of the valley and Piz Tavrü. Before reaching the far end of the valley the road turns right and gets more steeper as it approaches Alp Tavrü. From here it becomes a path and continue in turns up towards the back of Mot Tavrü.

Finally the ridge ridge is reached and the goal in sight. On the ridge the path follows the border to the National Park and there are very nice scenic views into the National Park and to the 3000'ers of the area.

Mot Tavrü is often visited by wild animal watchers and is a good place for spotting - but bring your binoculars or telescope.

We followed the same route back to S-charl to get a well deserved ice-cream on the terrace of one of the hotels :-)

There are plenty of things to do on the route and challenges for the kids with bridges, river, stones, animals (we saw lizards, a snake, cows and a million butterflies).
