Tomales Point Trail is a very popular hike from Pierce Point Ranch to the northern most tip of the Point Reyes Peninsula. It offers spectacular coastal views to Tomales Bay, Bodega Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. It is also a prime wildlife viewing trail. Lots of seals, gulls, pelicans, cormorants, interesting flora and you'll most likely run into some Tule Elk along the way, since this is a preserve for them. The best time to hike is probably in fall, spring or a sunny winter day, because summer days are often foggy here.

The trailhead is at the Pierce Point Ranch. From there follow the well marked and easy trail all the way to Tomales point and back. The round trip is about 10 miles long with a few gentle drops and climbs which total to about 1300 ft of elevation gain. Be prepared for a breezy windy day!
