Monte Tamaro - (and >200 km views)

Wanting to show Ticino and the Alps to some German friends who had never been here I chose Tamaro on a cloudless day - one of those slight northerly wind days for which Ticino is so famous. The views spanned the whole alpine arc from Monviso to Bernina and in the south the Appennines. Breathtaking, no other words. 

We, 6 friends and Penny my Labrador dog, took the cablecar to Alpe Foppa and hiked up to the summit and back. As expected, loads of people on this absolutely stunning sunday. Tamaro has become a huge amusement park; it is an an excellent idea to centralise these activities in one place so they the risk to spoil other places is smaller.

Ca. 1.45h up and 1.15h down. Extended chocolate cake break on the summit!

Down at Alpe Foppa we visit Bottas Church and then down again.
