Colorado

This was an awesome and inspiring hike!  It consisted of a variety of beautiful wildflowers, moss engulfed streams, a broken down old cabin and plenty of aspen!  Very refreshing indeed.  :-)

There is no higher peak, if you were to fly east from here across the United States, across the Atlantic until Mont Blanc.  This peak was seen by the Stephen Long expedition of 1820 first on June 30 of that year and his name appears on it as early as 1825. Tomahawk Lake is up several miles from the main highway heading east from Paonia, Colorado. It's all uphill to the lake and not difficult, but beautiful.
